January Update

What a month of doom and gloom news, many families have been affected by lost jobs, repossessed homes, America has inaugurated its First Black president, My youngest Son charlie turned one and on Tuesday night past we had a close call as we lost our bathroom in a house fire (started from electric shower), thank God it happened when it did, everyone was got out of the house quick and the fire engines arrived within 5 minutes, Looking back on Tuesday night the thing that has sent most shivers down my spine was those thoughts of what could have happened, but I Thank God for saving my little family from what could have been.

February sees me turn 27, I can remember like yesterday turning 17, its crazy where this journey called life has taken me and brought me to in the last 27 years.

I feel empty of stuff to share, so apologies for my lack of blogging, maybe February will bring a few thoughts, ideas and challenges as we do life!

Why do I do, what I do?

What drives me? What gets me out of bed in the morning, what motivates me? Where do i get the energy to do what I do? Have you ever sat back to evaluate your life and asked a few questions? I’m a deep thinker, usually few of words but think enough to make up for that.

Recently as I’ve been taking stock of the direction my life has taken over the last few years I’ve realised that it is my passions that dictate my direction. I do what I do because I care about those things, My Family is by far the closest thing to my heart! Amy and the kids have become my world, they give me the enthusiasm and encouragement and love to work hard and to reach for those things that otherwise I wouldn’t have reached for.

I’ve found like any other parent that bringing kids up puts a little more pressure on life decisions and takes more patience when looking ahead to the future and what may be if God grants me the years.

But in Life I’ve learned one thing if I do something for passions sake and not position sake Life will work out without stressing or worrying us, because we will be doing something for healthy and natural reasons. Lets not become robots that do stuff because its what everyone does, Do what you want to do because you want to do it! (if you didn’t get that read it again) God has given you an identity and DNA different to everyone else, so you need to discover who that person within you is, what makes them tick, then feed it!

In 2009 don’t settle for the mundane and normal, reach for the stars, reach for higher heights and the impossible! Why? If you don’t reach now in years to come, you will live to regret your desire to live the ‘normal’ life, We have got to be people living on the edge of our dreams, riding the waves and having fun while we do life. Life is meant to be exciting! God Bless.

1st January 2009

A new beginning today as we all embark on a New Year, May I take this opportunity to wish you and your families a Healthy, God inspiring, Life changing and adventurous New year!

2008 Flew and so will this year, there will be challenges this year for us all, Good times, Hard times, Joy and Tears, but my Goal for this year is to lean less on myself and my “stuff” and learn to lean and live life feeding from God more and also to push myself in my new outdoor adventures of mountaineering which have seen me hike three mountains in three months, so hopefully I will continue to climb physically and also climb closer to God!

I’ll try to take a little time over the coming weeks and share a little “soul stuff” I’ve been searching over this past while, God continues to amaze me with His Love and Grace and in 2009 no matter the storms that will come our way, I will hold on to God with everything, I pray you to will do this.

God never wants you to stay in the same place for to long, in 2009, my question today is simple, where do you want God to take you in 2009? Before the journey begins take time to prepare your heart, soul and life,
May you have a God blessed 2009!
