Finding God
In my years as a Christian I’ve found that it gets harder as you further down the road, I feel an expectation to grow more in faith, knowledge and experience in the things of God, maybe not an expectation but rather an obligation.
The fact for me seems to be that as time goes on I continue to think ‘I’ve so much more to learn, so much more to do, so much more to change’, This God Mystery in my life continues to drive me forward, but sometimes I lack the enthusiasm to take it further and deeper, WHY? Cause Life gets in the way, and I let it, I’m the worlds best for excuses, ‘Its tough with three kids’, ‘Got a full time Job, full time Husband, Father etc etc, its hard to fit God into the equation?’
My wrestling has taken me to a place where I need to evaluate my priorities, What are they? Where are they? If God is Top on my list priorities why do i spend more time watching Sky News? or Football? I seem to find so much time for unnecessary things then struggle for the more important things – the fact is my Time Management is Poor.
As Christians our Goal must be to nurture and Grow our faith and trust in Christ, Friends stuck down with illness, untimely deaths, worries and stresses all have a way of taking our eyes of Jesus, And I guess its in times like these that the strength of our roots in God are tested to the core.
God is certainly bringing me to a crossroads in my life at the moment, the last hurdle has been a tough one but as I look ahead to a new season in my life I know my dependence and enthusiasm and passions need to be fueled by God, not Self.
As I look back God has been beside me right from the day I gave him my heart, Many times I’ve been carried through, for that I thank God, Godly Friends and more important My Beautiful Wife Amy! Having A Godly wife who prays and seeks God Daily is something I thank God for everyday.
God is always all around us, but its so easy to be blinded by ‘stuff’, the stuff needs put where it belongs. Hope You are in a place where Finding God is not just a theory, Lets make our Good intentions happen! God Bless
