Every year the sight of flowers blossoming, lambs skipping in the fields, and the brighter evenings have a major role in motivating me, Lets be honest some days its hard to get motivated, maybe it could be feeling under the weather, or having pressures at home or work etc, we all can be in this boat at times, but I have always found come spring life gets a little easier and more exciting!
This experience can be paralleled with new seasons in the spiritual, God is constantly drawing closer to us, as He comes closer to us,(Or as we draw closer to God) His light exposes things that need to change, things we need to learn, areas were we are weak and need to find strength, As these seasons come and go I find the intensity of the Call to submit more to God just keeps getting harder, the bar is always rising way beyond were I feel in myself I can reach (although that can only mean I know I need a supernatural intervention from God to help me).
We all strive to depend more on God, to Surrender more time, energy or enthusiasm to Him, to grow deeper and stronger, but its so easy to get to a place with God were its comfortable and can nearly be done in a strange robotic mode, but then a new season launches and the comforts are exposed and stripped away and your left feeling raw, naked and in a strange way empty (probably because you’ve got out of touch with God).
Wherever you are in God at present, I encourage you to ‘pursue God’, A recent film ‘Pursuit of Happiness‘ left me in tears as I realised that there are probably more in the world pursuing happiness in this life and forgetting about an eternal happiness that could be theirs if they invited God into their life and all their life involves.
This Spring let God have His Free Reign in your life and I can Guarantee happiness will be yours! Let God put a Spring in Your Step!
Its been a privilege the past three weeks having the opportunity to pray with the Christians in Lurgan, Its also been great to pray in different churches every week for our town, unity, peace, hope, vision, salvation and so much more.
One observation I’ve made is the deep passion that many have for our little town, a town of 24,000 people from all kinds of backgrounds, all hungry and seeking for something in this life, not sure were to turn many have resorted to drink, drugs and crime to mention a couple, but now trends are changing, its incredible to see so many hungry people arriving on church doorsteps, many are asking questions in relation to eternity and the meaning of life, if you ask me this is a direct result of the prayers of saints for the past hundreds of years.
I believe God has heard the cry of His people for Lurgan and the thought of a mighty move of God in Lurgan excites me, Lets be a people who pray unending prayers for our friends, colleagues and towns, God Hears and He will answer!
Live in Lurgan? I encourage You to get involved in 24-5!
