What are we training for? PT1
Have you ever been asked what your doing and why? Like a student doing medics, is obviously desiring a career in medicine related activities, but that person has their eyes fixed on a destiny, they have a goal, they are striving to accomplish something in their life,
(**sorry to mention this next sentence, but it’s been my observation**)
I’ve come to find many believers uninspiring, non-visional and non-ambitious. The word ‘career’ seems to be a bad word unless its in full time ministry, for someone to say they enjoy their job around churches nearly seems a bad thing. Too many young people have the same answer when asked what they want to do with their career/life…
“…I dunno…?”
A very wise man who happens to be my father in law has so often told me …”Find what You want to do with your life, and find someone who will pay you, to do it” So for those younger than me that’s my best advise!
Today I simply feel myself wanting to rattle this cage a little. If where you are in your life right now is where you know God has you, then I would say firstly well done for getting their, secondly enjoy the ride, third – don’t let Go of it!!!! Don’t spend 30 years being a builder if you feel God calling you to do a ‘new thing’, don’t spend your days in important board meetings if God wants You to inspire leaders in business and churches in your nation/World, don’t feel your job is something that simply makes ends meet, but rather a place that forces ends to become beginnings, a place were we find life and vitality, hopes and dreams, visions and passions, desires, plans, ambitions, need I go on…? David remember used to keep sheep, but one day He realised God was calling and leading him to become King of Israel, did you see David wait for the lightning to strike the same mountaintop three times? Did David stick around the fields and become the Best Shepherd doing what He knew best? Or did he take a risk? Or maybe to put it better, did he Realise the word initiative has four I’s in it?
Meaning the I in you must make a few changes, Take a few Risks, dare to MOVE out of the comfort zone for you to reach Gods destiny for your life. I’m just Throwing out a few thoughts, will continue this at a more normal hour of the day. Sleep tight!
