A New Start…

It was smiles all round Stormont yesterday as Two enemies came together to try to make this wee country work, a final push for lasting peace and stability. Sinn Fein and the DUP now represent the majority of people on this island and to see them unite in some senses of the word has brought an atmosphere of hope and stability to Northern Ireland.

Ian Paisley and Martin McGuiness may still have a journey ahead which will bring many tests but I am grateful that they are at least giving the Future of NI a chance, Its been a bold step and a hard step for Ian Paisley but I am so glad that He has now realised the true meaning of loving your enemies, this is a start and this proves if healing can come to most extreme relationships and friendships in society then it Is possible for Northern Ireland to unite with one voice and see proper politics discussed and see people living in harmony in this island once again.

Continue to pray for the leaders of our nation as they prepare to make many tough and important decisions in the near future.

Burning out…

Why is life so busy, so fast, so rushed, I mean society has pushed itself into an out of control status, we’ve become a ‘brief contact society’, Its so hard to find ‘quality time’ even though in my own life i’ve cut out a lot of stuff to make time for Amy, Kids, Families and Friends, But i still am constantly reminded that time management is something that I really need to work hard on, and need to improve on. Everyone wants quick fixes, slow and romantic timing is no longer in the air, people are working themselves into the ground paying off debts that are out of control, work and routine now bring happiness to the minoity, people push themselves beyond their human limits causing exhaustion, depression to mention a couple of illnesses, why do we let ourselves be exposed to such intense pressure and stress?

I read my bible and places like ‘…beside still waters’ are mentioned. I watched a DVD recently on a Hawian Pastor giving a talk on burnout, much of it really challenged me on where I stood. He advised people to Build their lives around periods of Rest, seems a little crazy I know, but maybe it is advise that is worth investing in if I want to remain healthy and enjoy the things in Life that people used to enjoy. Any advice on this is most welcome…
